Too Much Tea!

I have a weak spot for Tazo Awake tea... with honey and milk. Mmmm good. Perhaps, and this is only a theory, perhaps... three large cups a day is a bit to much. :P If anyone has an alternative tea solution, please let me know! :D

Paper for Danielle's family sign

I am making a family sign for my friend Danielle! The sign will incorporate all members of her family in Chinese characters and astrological symbols. :) Creating a paper palette is one of the joys of creating a papercut. Not all of these will be used... probably only 5-6 sheets will actually be selected... but this gives me an assortment to work from. Now to finish cutting out the main image and I will begin to assemble the entire sign. Fun!

Heffalumps are popping up everywhere!

A few weeks ago I made this post about heffalumps. During the present making excitement I had made a heffalump for myself... and then... he went off exploring on his own... until I found him today! I think he was getting lonely. :P I still need to name him. He shall visit his brothers and sisters in Boston this October. Mmmm October in Boston with sweaters and gloves. I am so ready for fall!

Emerging

I think I am in the process of reinventing myself. Instead of daydreaming about what I wish I was, or what I am not, I am seeing the sparks of me that were held back from developing (by me!) coming into their own.

Never stop dreaming!

Be grateful for the past, present and future—no matter what action you took, because you are here now, and now is all that matters! Apply your dreams as the reality you seek.

Warm Fuzzies <3<3<3 (always better than cold pricklies!) :D

Happy Anniversary to my friends :) (Yesterday!)

"Impatient" Rough Sketch for Illustration Friday

It has been a while since I created a sketch for Illustration Friday. I was pleased to have a little time today to create this one! This is a rough sketch of me around six years old waiting a WHOLE HOUR to go to a magic show with my Aunt Cindy and Grandmother. An HOUR felt like an ETERNITY at that age... :) And now they fly by so fast.

The grandfather clock in this illustration is something that I remember most about my grandparent's house and is something that I love dearly. I am sure that this quick sketch doesn't represent it accurately. I will have to go visit my Grandma and sit and sketch it in person. I love how drawing reminds you of the little things that make up your life. :)

Chicky

This is an old pastel painting that I did of a stuffed animal that my mother and I swapped back and forth a few years ago. He had a little squeaker inside of him that died one day... probably because my mom would squeeze him over and over and over when she had to ride with me in the car... something about how my driving made her nervous... :P

CRC Logo Update

Kevin, owner of the Circle R Cookers BBQ Team, has taken the logo I made for him and is getting a metal version to display on his cooker! This is the mock-up that he has received from the vendor, and I think it looks pretty darn cool in rough form. I am excited to see the process of the final product unfold!
